Send this web link or the PDF (DE/FR/EN/IT) with the invitation to the online conference to all participants if the identity of the persons must be verified.

Visual login verification VLV

The aim of this web application is to enable natural persons to prove to each other that they have logged in with a verified electronic identity.

Identities are checked visually and can be checked by all participants by consulting the list of participants at . Surname, first name, email address and, in certain cases, date of birth are provided. For legal reasons, the date of birth may be a generic placeholder entry. Nevertheless, the visual verification of the identity data is reliable because the email address provides information on the affiliation (e.g. xavier.yalonden@someoffice.admin.ch).

The most common use case is the organisation of online conferences where the identity of the participants must be verified before the conference begins. This means that the conference host requests a code from the participants via audio or conference chat in the first few minutes of the online conference, which each participant must generate in the VLV web application at .

Login to the VLV web application only works with verified electronic identities. An electronic identity is deemed to have been verified if the person has been checked with their official photo ID, including storage of the ID data. Persons who have received a FED-LOGIN identity as part of their employment or contract fulfil this requirement. They can use the FED-LOGIN identity to prove their identity with sufficiently high quality by means of a smart card or alternative means of proof of identity.

Persons who do not have a FED-LOGIN identity require a CH-LOGIN identity with a second factor of high quality, which has also been verified via video identification.

How do I obtain a verified CH-LOGIN identity?
×

To be able to carry out the following instructions, you need

  • a CH-LOGIN
  • a FIDO security key as a second factor (information on FIDO security key types can be found in the instruction)
  • a valid photo ID see country ID type list: Country list
  • a means of payment (information on means of payment can be found in the instruction)
If you do not yet have a CH-LOGIN, follow the instructions: CH-LOGIN - Registration

1st step:
Instructions: CH-LOGIN - Adding a FIDO security key as Second Factor

The FIDO security key are available from electronics retailers and must be procured by the end users themselves.

After this first step, your second factor still corresponds to the trust level "unverified". In order to raise your CH-LOGIN to a substantially higher, "verified" level, you must go through the video identification process, which is subject to a fee.

2nd step:
Instructions: CH-LOGIN - Video identification (VIPS) for FIDO security key
Certain communication connections between the user's end device and the video identification provider's server are required to carry out video identification. In environments with restrictions on outgoing communication (e.g. from organisational networks), it may not be possible to establish the necessary communication connections or the network connection may be blocked. In such cases, we recommend carrying out video identification with devices that do not communicate via outgoing connections from organisations.

After successful CH-LOGIN identity verification, you can log in at . You may have to wait an hour before you can log in, but be sure to try one day before the online conference.
