Scan QR CODE                                 +
×

After you click on the Scan QR Code button in the lower half of the access app, the app accesses your mobile device's camera. You can now scan the QR code that is displayed on your screen by FED-LOGIN. If you have not granted access to the camera, the access app will display an alert. The app displays the link to Open system settings; this takes you directly to the system settings for the access app on your mobile device. Make sure that you have granted access to your camera.

❂ Settings and functions

To open the settings, click on the cogwheel symbol at top right in the main page of the access app.

ACCOUNTS                                         +
×

When you register your FED-LOGIN access app in eIAM MyAccount, an account is set up in the app. This is automatically named as the main account (unless an account with this name already exists). You can change the account name at any time. By clicking on the account, you will find the options that are available for this account. Rename allows you to give the account a name of your choice. The account name only applies locally on your mobile device. If you have registered more than one mobile device with the access app, you will have to rename the account on each of your devices.

Change PIN This function is displayed if you have activated a PIN as a possible authentication method in the access app. After entering the old PIN, you can enter a new PIN and confirm the new PIN in the relevant field. If the old PIN entered matches your previous PIN, and if the new PIN matches the confirmed new PIN, then the new PIN is set by clicking on Save. You can cancel the process at any time by clicking on Cancel. This takes you back to the account settings. The Delete account function allows you to irrevocably delete your account in both the FED-LOGIN access app and FED-LOGIN itself (in MyAccount). Deleted accounts cannot be recovered. However, you can register a new account for the access app on this device in the eIAM MyAccount at any time.

This function on the mobile device should always be used for the orderly deletion of a registered FED-LOGIN access app account, if still possible.

This ensures that the account is deleted on your mobile device and, at the same time, the registration of that mobile device is deleted in MyAccount. If it is not possible for you to delete an account using this method when you need to, for example if the mobile device is faulty, you can also delete the registration of an app at any time in eIAM MyAccount. The Settings function takes you back to the Settings screen at any time.

DEVICE                                                +
×

This is the device registration name (e.g smartphone type, model name and registration date) which is entered after the successful access app registration. This registration name can be customised in the access app, and is also the name displayed in your eIAM MyAccount. It is a particularly good idea to rename your devices if you register and use the access app on more than one device. You can make the management of devices in eIAM MyAccount easier if you give them names such as "federal iPhone" and "private iPhone".

Reset FED-LOGIN Access                 +
×

ATTENTION: After you click on the Reset FED-LOGIN Access function and confirm this by clicking on Reset all data and settings, all data, accounts and settings of the FED-LOGIN access app will be deleted. However, the access app is still installed on your mobile device. You can reregister this app in MyAccount at a later date. Please note that if you delete the access app without first having deleted the account from the access app, the registered device will not be deleted in eIAM MyAccount. In this case, you will have to delete the registered app from MyAccount yourself, if required. Please note that registered accounts cannot be restored once all the data and settings have been deleted. But you can register another account for the FED-LOGIN access app on this device in MyAccount at any time.

Other help

The FED-LOGIN Access app does not open. I call up the application from "Google Search".
×

Solution: Use a web browser to use the application and not the "Google Search" app. The FED-LOGIN Access app is optimised for use in web browsers. The "Google Search" app is a mobile app with an integrated web browser. It behaves differently from a pure web browser in certain respects.

How can I add the second authentication method (PIN or Face ID/Touch ID)?
×

Open MyAccount, select the FED-LOGIN tile and log in with your smart card. Go to the Login & Security tab and click on Smart card login.

Click on "Register" and click through the menu (two time "Continue" without selecting anything else) until the QR code appears on the screen. Using the app that is already registered and installed on your mobile device, scan the QR code on the screen in MyAccount. You can now enter the missing second authentication method. Your FED-LOGIN access app now supports both authentication methods and offers you a choice when you log in.

What must I do if I have reset or replaced my mobile device without having first deleted my accounts via the registered FED-LOGIN access app?
×

Your first choice when deleting a registered FED-LOGIN access app should always be the access app itself. If this is no longer possible, for example because the device is faulty, you have accidentally deinstalled the app or for other reasons, you can also use MyAccount to delete registered FED-LOGIN access apps. You can find the instructions at Deleting the FED-LOGIN access app.
