Skinny Home Realm Discovery for outdated browsers

To allow sign-in even with outdated or partially unsupported browsers, a simplified version of the login page, called Skinny Home Realm Discovery (SkinnyHRD), is displayed automatically.

The SkinnyHRD page can also be intentionally triggered in modern browsers using tools such as ModHeader by setting the User-Agent value to “Trident/7.”.

Limitations of the SkinnyHRD page:

  • No announcement display
  • No interactive profile selection
  • No interactive access requests
  • No support for flow policies (which may negatively affect error handling)
